Day 6: Quick Update
Hi All,
Quick update - today was a good day. We got Sammy’s PICC Line replaced, and that seems to be going well. Julie was able to rest a little during the day, and I’m hoping we can both sleep tonight. Otherwise, we worked with Sam to make him more comfortable with his care team and to create a more pleasant environment for him in his room. We made small steps there.
While we were in the pre-op area for Interventional Radiology, Sam was comfortable enough to play a little, he smiled, and started using the sign for “I love you” (which was a first for him). So those were all big things.
I’ve been reflecting on the visit so far, and there have been so many little answered prayers. Today, Julie ran into the right person at exactly the right time to get some stuff done that needed to be done. Tomorrow, the floor GI doc is one of the best in his field, and someone we’d need to weigh in on what is going on with Sam. Julie got stuck on this idea that we should give Sam an X-ray, and that’s how we found the pneumatosis. In the bleakness of this time, it’s been encouraging to see those moments of provision.
The next four days should be rest days, Lord willing, I won’t make any posts, because we’ll just be waiting to see how this round of treatments goes.
How can you be praying for us?
Pray for rest for Julie, Sam, and me.
The next four days need to be rest days for Sam, so pray that nothing dramatic happens, he’s nice to his new PICC line, and we can enjoy each other.
Pray for Lucy, it’s always hard to be away from her, but she has her grandparents, so she should be able to have fun.
Pray that the Lord would continue to provide for our needs as the days go by, as he so graciously has.

Thanks so much for this update. We will be praying for you all. God bless you!
Thankful for the good day, lots of love. Prayers for a restful 4 days!
